Went out to Boon Lay in the afternoon around 2pm, meeting Jiande for a basketball session. So I reached Jurong point first and went to CD Rama, ahaha. Was greeted by the melodious voice of Sin Huey when I stepped in, songs from the compilation album, the BestDrama. Which jumped from the 5th position to 2nd even with fierce competition from other albums. Woohoo~ And alot of people were there looking at the album eh, and quite some people bought it. Woohoo x2! Jay Chou better watch his butt as the first position, haha.
After that Jiande arrived and had lunch at KFC, then go play basketball, used 'bankai'. No other people at the court. So ba zhan the whole court. Play until around 6pm+ then went back Jurong point, had dinner den talk abit, and go home.
Listened to 933 on the way home, the DJ was on a topic about gaming. Then one is talking about the pros and the other guy is talking about the cons. Didn't find the topic very argumentative... But at the end they talked about poly students in the gaming course, some of them went to the E3 conference(game conference) at US last year, and published their games to the major publishers like SquareEnix, Nintendo etc. And they were filled with satisfation and pride. And one sentence struck me hard. Something that one person told me long ago after I complain to her how stupid my course is. But back then I couldn't really understood what she meant. But now after all the tough junk(refusing to use the 's' word) and 'junky' results I've been through/getting during the course, I understood...
The DJ modify it abit tho, but it practically means the same thing... Something like "Love playing games is your hobby, but how successful you are in the gaming industry depends on how INTERESTED you are in your hobby." Interest is what differentiate a gamer, and a developer.
Seriously, without interest, anything you've learnt in the course seems damn hard to you. Just like how learning html is considerable much easier to me than C#/C++ programming. Which is the reverse for some others. I guess this is where interest kicks in. Studying is easy when you study what you like. But it should be the other way round, to LIKE what you STUDY. Most of us know this fact, but just didn't have the self-discipline to practice what we've preached...
Saying 'quit' now is definitely too late... Why couldn't I understand her words at that time? So I'm just hoping that interest will find its way into me along the duration of the course. Although I know it's hard, but the word of that person will drive me through.
Reached home after that, felt myself gaining a few halo rings from the thoughts flowing about in my brain. But for now, I'm not giving up my interst of webpage designing to gaming. I'm just hoping that I will score, used the diploma and get the job that I wanted to have.
Gonna get some sleep afterwards, and anticipate the day of Singapore Hits Awards. Which is the Saturday after the first week of school reopening. 3 weeks more of holidays... heuheuheu~
