Went to buy a new Sony Ericsson headphone earpiece today, the decision was rather sudden and made on the spot. My current one died on me today, and being one who walks around with songs being sang in my head, must have a earpiece.
Asked around and etc, then went to Century Square's Singtel shop and bought one for $68. One with the function that cancels out all outside noise. Shopping at Singtel shop is SOOOOO much better than at Starhub. Starhub buy one freaking modem:
May I have your bill letter please.
-There you go.
The IC of the subscriber(Lao beh)
-Na.
Can you ask him to come here?
-Why? I'm buying the modem, not my father.
Yah but we still need the subscriber to come down in person to sign this form to prove that he agrees to buy this modem.
-Isn't this IC the proof?
Sorry, our policy says that the subscriber must be here in person to make the purchase.
-...
Burn the god damn policy, my father knows nothing about computer, you ask him come he also yaya all the way. What's the point? And just selling one bloody modem, nid so troublesome to confirm here confirm there or not? You guys don't wanna make money isit? Like I'm his son and I will cheat his money, steal his IC, so that I can buy this 'oh so expensive' modem... Because of this, I still haven got my modem... My current one is working. But turning it on needs a damn lot of effort as the powerfuse is 'sot'(Thus it's on 24/7) Just pray there won't be any blackout. Lazy to go down to places like Sim Lim to buy.
Policy has words that are dead, humans have brains that are alive and thinking. But clearly it seems that the bosses of Starhub are training their staffs to be future dementia patients. Be more flexible la dey... Even though headset and modems are two different things, the logic is the same. Inflexible causes unhappy customer which leads to a decrease in net profit.
